Unlike the recent false alarm at Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear power plant, the sirens will wail out of Mochovce nuclear plant this time on Thursday 29 September as part of a planned test.
The nuclear power plant will be testing all of its alarm systems, but they should only be audible in and very near the plant, so no 2o-km radius panic this time, like when the public warning alarm went off at Bohunice in August. That false alarm froze the emergency services number and raised questions about the readiness to deal with a real situation.
